There is something about cardinals and bamboo! This Male Cardinal in the Black Bamboo loves hanging out with us. His big black mask, bright red feathers, and large crest make his colors stunning!
Cardinals get their name from the red capes of the Roman Catholic Church Cardinals! These birds inhabit the eastern and southern United States. Actually, seven states claim the Cardinal as the state bird, including North Carolina. Since they don’t migrate, you can see them year round. I love seeing cardinals in the bamboo in the snow. The bright, cheerful red always brightens up the day.
I use various colored pencils on white paper to draw the Male Cardinal in the Black Bamboo. Furthermore, we print it on archival-quality paper. The paper consists of 100% cotton fiber. It is sourced and produced in the USA.

I adjust images to show the actual colors of the artwork . How your device screen is set can change how the image looks. For example, a bright laptop screen in a well-lit room can make the colors look more vivid. The colors will look less vivid on a dimly lit desktop monitor. Also, different monitor brands and models can show colors differently. They can differ from the original artwork. So, keep in mind that the image might look a bit different on your screen.
