Meet Salty Paws, or “Salty” for short. He is not your average four-pawed fuzzball but a Cocker Spaniel with a penchant for art. Salty has an uncanny ability to paw his way into the heart of every creative endeavor! This tail-wagging virtuoso is not just my loyal companion; he’s the Leonardo da Vinci of the canine world and my most enthusiastic partner in crime at Pencils and Papers.
At the ripe old age of one, Salty has mastered the art of mixing colors. But, he still thinks cerulean is a type of dog treat. And let’s be honest, his idea of website maintenance is snoozing on the keyboard, but in his defense, that seems to magically solve half of my coding problems.
What does Salty do?
What does Salty Paws have to do with Pencils and Papers? His job description includes:
- Barking at UPS and USPS carriers
- Finding any dropped colored pencils
- Run around in the sunshine
- Sit on Mom’s lap when she is trying to work
- Chase away any and all thunder
- Play in the water

As you can see, he is quite the busy boy and just might show up in a blog post from time to time. He may even become the Pencils and Papers video star!
So if you notice a paw print or two in the sketches or a suspicious collection of dog hairs woven into the canvas, you’ll know the master, Salty, has struck again, leaving his mark on the world of art—one wag at a time!
You might, or might not, be a dog fan, but Salty has “tails” to share that will hopefully entertain you at times. Please follow us and be sure to comment on your pet(s). Also, please be sure to check out my new content in the store!
Until next week, stay safe and thanks for stopping by!
